Minecraft Font Generator

Minecraft draws its text from small pixel images in the game files, not from a font you can install. Players call it Mojangles. This generator draws your text from those same images, so the letters and spacing match the game.

You can download a lookalike. Mojang has never released the game's font as a file, so the Font button gives you Minecraft Font by Idrees Hassan, a free fan-made copy of the letters in regular and bold. Install the .otf files and pick Minecraft in Photoshop, Premiere, Word or any app that uses the fonts on your computer.

The lookalike font you download here is free, also for monetized videos and paid work. It's shared under the SIL Open Font License, which comes in the zip. It isn't Mojang's font, and the Minecraft name and logo still belong to Mojang.

Type your text, pick a color and a size, then click PNG. The image has no background, so you can drop it straight onto a thumbnail, a video or a Discord banner.

Pick the size here before you download. At size 8, every pixel of a letter becomes an 8 by 8 square, so the edges stay sharp. Stretching the PNG in another app can smooth the pixels and blur them.

The game draws a copy of the text 1 pixel down and to the right, in the same color at a quarter of the brightness. White text gets a dark gray shadow, #3F3F3F. The Shadow option draws exactly that.

It's the Standard Galactic Alphabet from the old Commander Keen games. The enchanting table strings together 3 or 4 random words from a fixed list, so they tell you nothing about the enchantments. Pick the Enchanting table style to write your own text in it.

The logo isn't a font. It's a single piece of art with chunky stone letters, so there's no font file for it. To put your own text in that style, use our Minecraft Logo Maker.
