Type a Java player name above or upload a skin file, then download the pack and turn it on in Minecraft. Every Totem of Undying then looks like that skin, in your hand and when it pops.

Add the zip to your resource packs and select it. In Minecraft, open Options, then Resource Packs, and drag the zip onto that screen, or click Open Pack Folder and put it there without unzipping it. Click the pack so it moves to Selected, then click Done.

Download the Bedrock pack and open the .mcpack file, and Minecraft imports it. Then go to Settings, Global Resources, My Packs and activate it. Bedrock skins can't be looked up by name, so upload your skin file instead.

The Java pack works on 1.11 to 26.3, and there's a pack for Bedrock too. On Java 1.20 and newer it loads without a warning. On older versions Minecraft says the pack was made for a newer version. Click Yes and the totem still changes.

No. A resource pack only changes your own game, so everyone else sees the normal totem. If you run the server, you can set the pack as the server resource pack, and every player who accepts it sees your totem.

Yes. The pack runs in your own game, so it works on any server and in single player. It only changes how the totem looks, not what it does.

Another pack is probably changing the totem too. Move this pack to the top of the Selected list, and turn off packs that make the totem 3D, because they replace its model. Also make sure the zip wasn't unzipped into an extra folder.

One pack turns every totem into one skin. Make a pack for each player you like and switch between them in Resource Packs. The pack at the top of the list wins.
