We just made WiseHosting cheaper, here's why

Hey, I’m Lauri, CEO of WiseHosting. This is not our usual kind of update.

We just made our Minecraft hosting cheaper, added more stuff for free, and not just for new users, but it's for everyone.

• Our Minecraft hosting plans are now around 10% cheaper, starting at $3.00/GB.
• Optional add-ons (storage, backups, CPU power) are now around 70% cheaper, starting from $0.99.
• All plans now include more CPU power, more storage and free backups by default.
• These updates apply to every existing WiseHosting customer, not just new signups.
• This is not a promo or time-limited sale. We’ve permanently changed our pricing model.

If you’re already using WiseHosting, your next invoice will be lower, and your server likely has more stuff included than before.

What Changed In WiseHosting

The short version: we want every plan to feel “READY TO GO” by default.

That means:

• You don’t need to buy add-ons to get a great server.
• You don’t have to figure out what marketing trick we’re pulling. The price you see is the price you pay.

So we:

• Lowered base prices (now $3.00/GB).
• Included more in every plan: more CPU power, more storage, free backups.
• Made optional add-ons almost too cheap: unlimited storage, performance boosts and backup slots are starting at $0.99.
• Brought back Zombie plan (2 GB) at just $5.99/month.
• Built a smoother upgrade flow so changing plans/add-ons is actually painless.
• Added a currency selector so you can see prices without doing the math (payments are still made in USD).

And yes: this applies to old customers as well as new. No need to cancel and rebuy anything.

Why We Lowered The Pricing

We had two options:

1. The standard hosting way:
   New shiny product line with better pricing, only for new customers. Old customers stay on old/worse deals, unless they notice and migrate.
2. The way we’d want to be treated as players:
   Lower prices across the board, and improve the plans for everyone, even if it costs us real money.

We picked option 2.

Yes, this cut a good chunk of our revenue. It didn't look good in our spreadsheets. But our whole brand is Minecraft-only host that actually cares about gamers, not squeezing them out of money.

We gave up revenue to make Minecraft hosting into something we believe is actually fair (and square).

What This Means for You Today

If you’re already hosting with us:

• Your monthly price is lower, with no action required.
• Your plan now includes more CPU power, more storage and backups.
• If you ever need more (most of you won’t), add-ons now start at $0.99.

If you’re just checking us out:

• You can pick a Minecraft Hosting plan and be ready to play.
• If you like tweaking every little thing and going to the absolute max, the options are still there, they’re just not traps.

What’s Next

This isn’t a one-off move. It’s the direction we’re going as a Minecraft Hosting company.

We want to:

• Keep making improvements so you don’t need a PhD in Minecraft hosting to get started.
• Add more features that respect your time (and your wallet).
